Three years ago, I was making body butter in my kitchen for my daughter's eczema because the prescription cream stopped working. That same formula now anchors this set. Every product in this set works for skin that is sensitive, reactive, or just plain done with synthetic skincare.

What is in this set

Four products built for dry skin that also wants its glow back.

Rosemary Body Butter (8 oz). Herbal, clarifying, and grounding. Real shea butter base with rosemary essential oil for a clean, spa-like feel that does not overwhelm. Best for post-shower refresh.

Unscented Body Butter (8 oz). For the days when even gentle essential oils feel like too much. Same plant-based base, no essential oils. Safe for the most reactive skin and for babies.

Gentle Face Cleanser (4 oz). Aloe vera and cucumber for the kind of cleanse that does not leave your face stripped. No sulfates, no synthetic fragrance.

Vitamin C Brightening Serum (1 oz). A gentle vitamin C formulation that brightens uneven tone without the burning that comes with high-concentration vitamin C. Safe for sensitive skin.

The routine I recommend

Morning: cleanser, vitamin C serum, body butter. Night: cleanser, body butter again (skip the vitamin C at night). For extreme dryness, alternate between the Rosemary and Unscented body butters depending on how reactive your skin feels that day. Give the brightening serum 4 to 6 weeks before evaluating the tone change.

Will the Vitamin C Brightening Serum sting my sensitive skin?

It uses ascorbic acid in a hydrating base of hyaluronic acid, aloe, and panthenol. If you have known vitamin C sensitivity, patch test first on the side of the jaw for three nights before applying to the whole face.

Is this set safe for eczema or just for dry skin?

Both. Every product in this set is plant-based, fragrance-free or gentle-essential-oil-only, and free of common eczema triggers like parabens, sulfates, and synthetic fragrance. The Unscented Body Butter included makes this set safe for the most reactive eczema-prone skin. For severe medically-managed eczema, consult your dermatologist.

How does this compare to the other Dry Skin Rescue Set?

The other set uses Lavender Body Butter and Hydrating Face Serum (niacinamide and hyaluronic acid for pure hydration). This set uses Rosemary Body Butter and Vitamin C Brightening Serum (for tone and brightness on top of hydration). If your dry skin also looks dull or uneven, this one. If your skin just needs deep hydration without the brightness layer, the other one.

How long does this set last?

For one adult using the full routine morning and night, this set lasts 6 to 8 weeks. Once you find your favorite body butter scent, switch to a refill pouch for ongoing restocks.

Can I use the Vitamin C serum at night?

You can, but morning is the best time for vitamin C because it pairs with sunscreen to protect skin from environmental damage during the day. At night, focus on hydration and barrier repair through the body butter and cleanser.

Who makes these?

I do. My name is Kay, and I make every jar by hand in small batches in Leonardtown, Maryland. It started with a body butter for my daughter's skin, and Jeremiah and I turned it into So Buttery Skin in 2023.

What is in the body butters?

Every scented and unscented body butter starts with shea butter, sweet almond oil, rosehip oil and vitamin E. The scented ones add essential oils, and the Unscented has none. The Eczema Soothing jar has its own formula: shea, mango and avocado butters, jojoba oil, hemp seed oil, vitamin E and a light touch of tea tree and lavender. Any allergens I should know about?

Yes. Sweet almond oil is a tree nut, and it is in all of the scented body butters and the Unscented. If you have a nut allergy, check the Ingredients tab before you buy, and patch test anything new on a small spot of skin first.

Is it vegan and cruelty free?

Yes. Everything is plant based and nothing is tested on animals.

How should I store it?

Somewhere cool and out of direct sun. Shea butter softens in the heat and firms up in the cold, and that is normal. If a jar arrives soft on a hot day, pop it in the fridge for twenty minutes.
