I am Kay. So Buttery Skin started in my kitchen after my daughter's eczema. When my own skin began to shift in my forties, I built this oil for the version of anti aging that does not require burning my face off. Marula and rosehip are the workhorses. What is inside

Marula oil for omega rich softness, rosehip oil for natural vitamin A and skin renewal, plus a blend of supporting plant oils that absorb quickly and do not leave a slick film. No retinol, no synthetic fragrance, no parabens. Anti aging the slow, kind way, where you trade burning for consistency.

How to use it

At night, after your serum and cream, warm three to five drops between clean palms and press them into your face and neck. In the morning, you can use one or two drops mixed with your cream for a glow boost before sunscreen. A little goes a long way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this if my skin is oily?

Yes. Marula and rosehip are both lightweight and do not tend to clog pores. Many oily skin customers find that adding the right oil actually balances their skin over time.

Is this a retinol alternative?

Rosehip naturally contains some vitamin A activity, so it offers a gentler version of what retinol does, without the irritation. It is a slower approach to texture and tone.

Is it safe during pregnancy?

Most pregnant customers use this oil without issue, but always confirm with your provider, especially if your skin is reactive during pregnancy.

Will it pill under makeup?

Use it at night for best results. If you use it in the morning, blend one or two drops into your cream rather than layering on top.

How long does a bottle last?

About three to four months with nightly use.

Can I use it on my body?

You can, but it is formulated for the smaller area of the face. For body, our body butters are the better workhorse.

Who makes these?

I do. My name is Kay, and I make every jar by hand in small batches in Leonardtown, Maryland. It started with a body butter for my daughter's skin, and Jeremiah and I turned it into So Buttery Skin in 2023.

What is in the body butters?

Every scented and unscented body butter starts with shea butter, sweet almond oil, rosehip oil and vitamin E. The scented ones add essential oils, and the Unscented has none. The Eczema Soothing jar has its own formula: shea, mango and avocado butters, jojoba oil, hemp seed oil, vitamin E and a light touch of tea tree and lavender. Any allergens I should know about?

Yes. Sweet almond oil is a tree nut, and it is in all of the scented body butters and the Unscented. If you have a nut allergy, check the Ingredients tab before you buy, and patch test anything new on a small spot of skin first.

Is it vegan and cruelty free?

Yes. Everything is plant based and nothing is tested on animals.

How should I store it?

Somewhere cool and out of direct sun. Shea butter softens in the heat and firms up in the cold, and that is normal. If a jar arrives soft on a hot day, pop it in the fridge for twenty minutes.
