I am Kay. I made the unscented version for my daughter, because during her worst eczema flares she could not tolerate even our gentlest scents. The 3.4oz is the one to tuck into a baby shower gift or keep in your bag for reactive days. Net weight 3.4oz, plant based.

What is inside

Rich and creamy shea butter, sweet almond oil, rosehip oil, and vitamin E. No essential oils, just the gentle natural shea note. The shea is unrefined, the almond oil softens it, the rosehip goes to the driest spots, and the vitamin E keeps the oils fresh. Contains sweet almond oil (tree nut).

How to use it

Warm a small amount between your palms and smooth it onto arms, legs, and anywhere that runs dry. Gentle enough for babies, pregnancy, and post-procedure skin. For everyday full body use at home, the 8oz jar goes further per scoop. This one is built to travel and to gift.

Common questions

How is this different from the full-size jar?

Same butter, smaller jar. The 8oz jar is the everyday size and the better value per use. The 3.4oz is the grab-and-go, the diaper-bag size, the easy gift.

Is it carry-on friendly?

Yes. 3.4oz is the TSA carry-on limit, so it rides in your personal bag without a fight.

Who makes these?

I do. My name is Kay, and I make every jar by hand in small batches in Leonardtown, Maryland. It started with a body butter for my daughter's skin, and Jeremiah and I turned it into So Buttery Skin in 2023.

What is in the body butters?

Every scented and unscented body butter starts with shea butter, sweet almond oil, rosehip oil and vitamin E. The scented ones add essential oils, and the Unscented has none. The Eczema Soothing jar has its own formula: shea, mango and avocado butters, jojoba oil, hemp seed oil, vitamin E and a light touch of tea tree and lavender. Any allergens I should know about?

Yes. Sweet almond oil is a tree nut, and it is in all of the scented body butters and the Unscented. If you have a nut allergy, check the Ingredients tab before you buy, and patch test anything new on a small spot of skin first.

Is it vegan and cruelty free?

Yes. Everything is plant based and nothing is tested on animals.

How should I store it?

Somewhere cool and out of direct sun. Shea butter softens in the heat and firms up in the cold, and that is normal. If a jar arrives soft on a hot day, pop it in the fridge for twenty minutes.
